The 教学中心, and 评估 (CTLA) advances teaching and learning excellence at 俄亥俄州 by providing University-wide resources and championing scholarly teaching that is student-centered, 以证据为基础的, 创新包容.

Newly expanded and relaunched in the fall 2022 semester, CTLA为教官服务, 部门, programs and colleges across the University. The CTLA's programming brings 俄亥俄州 community members together to share ideas and expertise, implement 以证据为基础的 instructional strategies in various learning contexts and assess the effectiveness of teaching practices.

The CTLA's initiatives align with many presidential priorities, as well as the University's vision statement, by transforming the student learning experience to best support intellectual growth and skill acquisition and promote learner development as individuals and engaged citizens.

newbb电子平台 faculty interested in exploring the ways generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) can be infused into a course -- topically, as an instructional strategy or as a significant support for student achievement of course learning outcomes -- are invited to apply to be part of the Summer AI-enhanced Course Redesign Institute.

This institute is designed to extend CTLA AI-related development offerings and support faculty representing a variety of disciplines. The courses developed in this institute will serve as models for other implementation, as well as pilots for innovative approaches to teaching with AI.

CTLA is also  accepting applications for a 2024-25 Generative AI in Teaching and 学习 教师 Fellow with program leadership and contributions to begin summer 2024.

This appointment is part of the ongoing CTLA 推进卓越教学 教师 fellows program.

教师 seeking consultations on 以证据为基础的 instructional strategies, pedagogical practices and 教与学奖学金 projects are invited to contact 工作人员 or visit our offices in McGuffey Hall, first floor.

    During the first year of its relaunch (August 2022 to June 2023), CTLA and its collaborators provided 36 workshops, 会话, and group consultations on 以证据为基础的 instructional strategies, 科技教学, course and instructional design and inclusive pedagogy. 340 faculty, 工作人员 and graduate student instructors participated.

    Year-long experiences offering time for implementation of new teaching approaches and reflection. The Inclusive Teaching Academy supports success of all students through the work of disciplinary faculty 团队s, and the Bruning Teaching Academy promoting teaching excellence through pairings of faculty earlier in their careers with those mid-career and beyond. The Graduate Student Instructor Academy provides a foundational experience for GSIs.
